The Algarviana Ultra Trail (ALUT) is an annual event organised by the Algarve Trail Running Association (ATR), a non-profit association, in partnership with the Algarve tourism board and other sponsors.
Runners begin the race in Sagres on November 24 at 4.30pm and end some 300kms later in Alcoutim.
Participants run almost exclusively along the Algarviana trail, taking in the Algarve hinterland with nine aid stations placed along the route there is plenty of support for runners.
Teams of four are also taking part in relay form, with the last section being the longest – from Cachopo to Alcoutim via Furnazinhas. Check here for the locations of the aid stations.
There are over 100 runners taking part in the race with the prize giving taking place in Alcoutim on Sunday, November 27 around 2.30pm.
If you want to support the participants click here for a route map, which also shows the aid stations.
