With the days now shorter it doesn’t mean that there is any less to do during the evenings here in Algarve.
The Christmas Market at the Lady in Red Gallery in Lagoa is now open on Monday through to Saturday until December 21 from 10am to 6pm. The gallery is located above the Adega (winery) in Lagoa and with the market offering seasonal handicrafts by local artisans together with the exhibitions held in the gallery there is a lot to see. The Adega itself is open until 11pm and offers wine tasting together with the opportunity to see how wine was made at the co-op winery until about 15 years ago.
In Lagos, every Friday until December 27, Vivenda Miranda is hosting live Blues or DJ 80’s classic evenings starting at 5pm. With their new cocktail bar now open and happy hour between 5-6pm it seems an excellent way to enjoy music, in comfort.
The Algarveans Experimental Theatre are performing The Wizard of Oz at Lagoa’s Carlos do Carmo theatre from November 21 – 23, with curtain up at 7.45pm and a matinée performance on November 23 also. This new version of the enchanting tale of good and evil, magic and fantasy and, of course, friendship will be full of singing, dancing, laughs and possibly some tears for those soft-hearted of you. Visit The Algarveans’ box office for more information about tickets, priced at just €10 each.
