This weekend and the coming week also is full of events for those wishing to watch, or participate in, sporting activities. We have chosen a few different events that you may be interested in.
As Portimão is a 2019 European City of Sport it is perhaps fitting to start in this city. The World Superbike Championship starts today at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve and will end on Sunday, September 8. Tickets can now only be bought at the circuit where there is plenty of room for all motorheads to park and watch.
Staying in Portimão, at the Arena, the International Portimão Tournament and Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup is currently on and runs until September 8. Entry is free of charge, for more information visit the FIG website.
Ever heard of footvolley? Well, the Portuguese National Championship is on over the weekend, September 7 – 8, taking place on Carvoeiro beach. Definitely a great way to get a tan and support those taking part.
The 57th Portuguese Open starts on September 12 and takes place over four days at Morgado do Reguengo Golf Course, north of Portimão on the road to Monchique. Admission is free and there is plenty of parking available.
And finally we have chosen the energetic dance of Flamenco. Lagos is to host the Flamenco Festival from September 12 – 14. Taking place at the Centro Cultural de Lagos, starting at 9.30pm each evening with tickets costing €12.
