From sunset concerts to an army big band, snails to street food – all that is food for the soul is happening this weekend.
Lagos Food Fest
Open from tonight until July 14 this is street food at its best. With Food Trucks from all over Portugal taking part visitors can taste the best of what the country has to offer, with plenty of choice so there is something to suit all tastes. The Portuguese Army plays Lagos
From 10pm on July 12, also in Lagos, visitors can listen free of charge to the Portuguese Army’s orquestra play an eclectic mix of music including rock, latin, jazz and funk. They will also play fado acclaimed fadistaCuca Roseta, from the new generation of fado singers. So, take yourselves to the Praça do Infante and enjoy the Big Band sound. For directions click here.
Porches’ 25th Snail Festival – Festival do Caracol de Porches
From July 12 to 14 the village of Porches is hosting its 25thannual Snail Festival with live music, local gastronomic delights that of course also include snails. Entrance is free with the festival opening 6pm and closing at 1am.
Sunset Secrets – Silves Castle
On July 18, 25 and August 1, starting at 6.30pm, Silves Castle is hosting three concerts that also include the opportunity to try regional dishes, free massages, watch oriental dance and listen to different artists. For more information click here.
