Autumn and winter in the Algarve are full of things to do and see. With the sun still shining and much going on this is a great time to visit the region. 

Algarve Spa Week

This weekend, for example, the Algarve Spa Week begins. Actually, it’s not a week but nine days offering 50% discounts on specific treatments. Be Active & Be Well is their mantra this, their tenth, year with participating spas including Salgados Palace Spa, Atlântico Spa, 7Seven Spa, Almond Tree Wellness Spa, Spa by Blue&Green, Tivoli Spa Marina Vilamoura, Tivoli Spa Carvoeiro, Lisvaýa Spa, Anantara Spa, Alma Spa and Osmos Wellness Center. Sagres Bird Watching Festival

The following week, starting on October 10 and continuing through to October 13, the Sagres Bird Watching Festival takes place. Thousands of birds migrate over the Algarve on their way to their wintering territories in Africa. Read more about the festival.

Portugal Masters

Staying out of doors, the Portugal Masters takes place at the end of October over four days. Starting at 8am on October 24 through to end of play on October 27, visitors can watch those masterful golfers, with defending champion Tom Lewis returning and also 2018 Ryder Cup Captain Thomas Bjørn appearing after a four-year absence. A ticket for the four days costs €60 with a daily ticket costing €20. Over 60s and under 18s will receive discounted tickets. For further information visit the Portugal Masters’ website.

Algarve Classic Festival

Moving into November, the Algarve Classic Festival takes place at the international racetrack, Autodrómo Internacional do Algarve. The event hosts 22 European classic championships With more than 300 teams visitors also have the opportunity to buy tickets (limited amount available) to the paddock to see the classic cars up close.
